How to Prune Bonsai Wisteria

How to Prune Bonsai WisteriaHow To Prune a Wisteria Tree and how to prune wisteria bonsai trees. In this video, I share with you how to prune wisteria bonsai trees and also how to prune wisteria grown in the ground and trained to grow against a house wall or grown in pots. In both cases, the Wisteria stalks on which the flowers grow are removed after flowering. If you want to collect seeds, then leave a few for harvesting seeds in late summer/ autumn/fall. The Wisteria tendrils grow very fast and for this reason, it is important the wisteria are pruned around now to maintain the shape and then again in August and then in winter when the branch structure is visible as all the leaves are down. The trees should be heavily fed, I use chicken pellets to fertilize my wisteria trees. The Wisteria bonsai pots should be placed in shallow trays of water. These trees are very thirsty as the as there is a lot of foliage which needs to be supported.

For full care see the first wisteria video in the playlist, a link is in the info card in the top right-hand side of the video screen.
